Hello Michael Hecker, can you give us a brief introduction yourself and let us know what you do in 34rth?
Hello and thanks a lot for having me. My name is Michael Hecker, I am based in Munich (Germany) and in team 34rth I am responsible for our community and public relations. Good friends are actually sometimes surprised when they here about my public relation efforts in team 34rth because I am a rather data- and number-oriented person. I know this sounds like a contradiction, but it is not when it comes to crypto. At the end of the day, crypto is about solving puzzles. Some are cryptographic and others have to do with human behavior. If we truly want to transform the web on a global scale, both types of puzzles have to be solved.
34rth is an interesting name. Can you let the community know what this means and how this name was derived?
Number 34 actually has a lot of interesting features: It is a semiprime, it is a Fibonacci number, it is the smallest number with the property that it and its neighbors have the same number of divisors and more.
But to be honest: Those features are just nice add-ons.
We are nerds and we like 1337 (leetspeak). In Leet, letter E is replaced with number 3 and letter A is replaced with number 4. So 34rth stands for earth and that’s how our team name is pronounced as well. We associate earth with community and the greater good. As we associate the same with TRON we liked the name right away.
In few sentences, can you give an introduction of Team 34rth and let us know what you do?
Team 34rth is a group of tech and crypto enthusiasts located in Germany and the Netherlands. Our team currently has 5 members and we are actively searching for TRON enthusiasts to expand our team. On our website https://tron.34rth.com/ you can find more information about every individual team member, skills, and responsibilities.
“Decentralization” in the world of blockchain is a noble concept. Can you let us know your opinion on decentralization?
Decentralization is indeed a noble concept, but it is also an ambiguous one by its very definition. Just to name a few of the dimensions:
• Infrastructure decentralization
• Content decentralization
• Architectural decentralization
• Political decentralization
• Logical decentralization
• Development decentralization
• Decision decentralization
While “full decentralization” is theoretically a very desirable state, the practical challenges in reaching this state are often complex. Although TRON is still comparatively young, the collaboration of the TRON community, the Tron Foundation, and the super representatives demonstrate the commitment to decentralization.
Why did 34rth join the TRON SR election?
We truly believe that the internet will be completely transformed with blockchain technology. The only questions are: When and by whom? Instead of watching from the sidelines, we decided to actively contribute. What separates TRON is the commitment to decentralization and democracy and that’s why we became Tronics.
What else can 34rth offer to make the ecosystem of TRON better?
Currently, the three core pillars are 1. Technology (codebase) 2. (Server) infrastructure and 3. Community. By containerizing the Tron super-node infrastructure on Heroku we contributed to the second pillar and with our Meetups and social media activity, we are contributing to the third pillar. To contribute to the first pillar, we are planning to contribute to the TRON Bug Bounty Program.
Can you let us know your how will you be distributing your rewards if you are selected as TRON SR?
We are committed to the following award distribution: 25% community, 55% infrastructure, 15% development & 5% administration.
Will you have any future activities specifically to promote this TRON SR event and let more user know about 34rth? If so, what kind of activities?
Absolutely. We are promoting the TRON SR event both online and offline. Online via Twitter, YouTube, Slack, and Telegram. Offline via meetups.
In general, why do you think Tronics should support 34rth?
Because we are transparent, dedicated and skilled.
Is there last words you would like to share with the community before we end?
June 26th is an extremely important date. The Tron Super Representative election is not just about building a collaborative governance structure, it’s about building and growing our community.
